It’s time for more Sports with Stacy because Brad sure as hell ain’t gonna do it ...
If you’re like me – after suffering through the drama that was the lockout (hey – NFL and Players – I don’t like drama in my relationships, I sure as shit don’t like it in my football. Grow up.) I’ve been looking forward to the season to start. However, I’m not sure that the NFL is ready to make nice with its fans.
For example... tonight, the Bucs have a preseason (also called “exhibition game” for those of you who don’t follow) game in Tampa. Tonight, because the game is not sold out, the locals will be treated to ... a blackout. Yep, that’s right. Those of us here in town cannot have access to the game because the game, that doesn’t count for anything, didn’t sell out. [I will note that RARELY this benefits me because instead of local games, I actually get the Oakland games...but that’s very rare].
The NFL needs to make some changes ... for starters ... I don’t think any preseason game should be blacked out. Anyone who has been to a game recently knows that the price is ridiculous. The seats alone (assuming you’re not going alone and don’t want to sit in the nose-bleed section) are going to run you about $100. Then, there’s parking... another $20... and if you have any hopes of refreshments during the game... easily another $50.00. By the way... those same prices apply to PRESEASON games!!! Games that don’t even count! Games where the starters aren’t starting ... it’s second string and third string – because, hell, you don’t want your starters injured in a game that doesn’t count! WTF! Dudes – do yourself a favor... cut the prices during preseason and don’t engage in blackouts. Pussies. You piss me off.
